dreams about flying and chipping teeth or just having your teeth straight up fall out. i have always had an obsession with teeth. it's one of the first things i look at when meeting a person. I feel like I am either attracted or repulsed by people based at least 50% on their teeth alone. I like to watch people's mouths move when they talk. I also just like all the accoutrements that go along with teeth, i.e. toothbrushes, dental floss, mouth wash, toothpicks, toothpaste. I love all that shit, particularly toothbrushes because they have a cool look about them- the design and the shear commonplaceness of them are tight as hell and something i love. I love how boring they are. I like making boring things more important than they usually are.

ok. that's all. that guy up on the top is lookin good.

blaaahhhhgggging

I was in this show curated by my roommate. it was dope. you can see part of my little legs in the bottom left corner. cool cool cool ca cool cool cool. life is good.

NY TIMES TAKE Endorced by Coolio

I think this lady sums it up quite nicely- and you know I agree with her whole-heartedly on Comme Des Garcon.

follow the link
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/19/fashion/19WRAP.html
then click on the video "paris fashion wrap up". Obviously, watch all the vids/read all the articles, but I particularly like that video.

PLEASE YOU MAKE BETTER WORLD

Please go to www.freedocumentaries.org and watch The Corporation if you haven't already seen it.
While you are there watch a bunch of other documentaries. Then, read a bunch of articles and pump your brain full of amazing amounts of knowledge. Then, and this is the most important part, implement these things into your day-to-day life. Then, get up and away from the computer and do something in your community. Make it happen. There is really no reason to consume things at the rate we do. I love the message at the end of the documentary, about the weakness of greed...

"The rich man will sell you the noose to hang him with if he thinks he can make a buck"

Don't be that rich man. Don't kill yourself with convenience (i.e. plastics- EVERYTHING IS WRAPPED IN PLASTIC AND PLASTIC DOES NOT BIODEGRADE!). Don't participate in tyranny. Don't be a greedy fool. I pitty the greedy fool.

Interfacing

I am currently taking class called Interfaces b/t Fashion and Architecture where we do nothing that necessarily has anything to do with either fashion or architecture exclusively. Not that those two things have to be mutually exclusive. The class is more about design in general and how to design sustainable things or systems that will ultimately help with waste and/or developement of 3rd world/developing countries- basically something that will help everyone. It's a pretty esoteric class with a lot of intense information, all of which is mind blowingly interesting. I love this class even though it makes me feel a little bit retarded.
Anyway, It's super interesting and I might start posting some stuff on here for who? I don't know.... nobody looks at my blog. I guess I'll be posting away for my own gratification.

Here are some things I would like to share/remember that I've been seeing, hearing about, learning about since the class started:

TED!

There's also a website called: likecool.com that is definitely worth checking out. This website has had some true examples of intersections between fashion and architecture. Even when the subject matter is completely unrelated it's still really like, cool.

Through that website I learned about this guy named Richard Kern. He took the photograph of the two naked girls. His photography seems to orbit around this theme. I'm not a total perv or anything, but I tend to like images like these. There's just something about them- if you aren't able to pull off voyeurism in real life you can do it through these pictures. I particularly like the "underwear series".

Don't Be Shittin' on my Fittin'

First fitting for skirts. Second fitting is March 23- i think??
Things are coming together.

Faux Tie

I am realizing more and more as I design and make stuff that I REALLY like trump l'oiel or trick of the eye shit. I like flat things that appear to be dimensional or like they are separate pieces when they are not. I like it when these things are confusing and mash up anatomy as well. Elsa Schaparelli is the only designer I know of that was really into this-- surrealistic clothing. She was cool. She did collaborations with Man Ray and Dali. I recently lost this faux tie shirt. I am super sad about it. I think I left it at Bethany's or Matt's. If you see it, tell it I want it to come back home.

Intimate Spaces In Your Faces

THIS IS A GARMENT I MADE FOR SHAPE AND THEORY CLASS. IT DIDN'T GO SO WELL IN CRITIQUE, BUT I HAPPEN TO LOVE IT. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THE PATCH WORK VOMIT POOL THAT EVERYBODY ELSE'S LOOKED LIKE. IT'S MEANT TO FACILITATE INTIMATE SPACE- SLOW DANCING MAINLY.
