I am realizing more and more as I design and make stuff that I REALLY like trump l'oiel or trick of the eye shit. I like flat things that appear to be dimensional or like they are separate pieces when they are not. I like it when these things are confusing and mash up anatomy as well. Elsa Schaparelli is the only designer I know of that was really into this-- surrealistic clothing. She was cool. She did collaborations with Man Ray and Dali. I recently lost this faux tie shirt. I am super sad about it. I think I left it at Bethany's or Matt's. If you see it, tell it I want it to come back home.
